This is a special form of interpreting as audio-visual translation, whereby a film is interpreted simultaneously and interlingually n real-time during the performance.
- Where does Film Interpreting take place?
This form of interpreting is mostly used at film festivals where new films are showcased, which have either not yet been dubbed or are only of interest to a very specific and therefore small audience. These films are then interpreted live on-site: either from the original language or from the (English) subtitles.
- What to pay attention to when it comes to Film Interpreting?
Good sound and functioning technology are basic requirements for successful multilingual communication. What is more, with film interpreting, interpreters should be provided with the script, speaker’s text or subtitle texts as preparatory material.
- How much does it cost?
For conference interpreting, prices are guided by standard interpreting fees (usually charged per conference day) and also depend on various factors such as the duration and type of assignment (specialist field, subject and intensity of preparation, audience, language combination).
